Pick the band for the job
Wristbands do two very different jobs. Silicone bands are kept and worn: they carry a cause or a brand message for awareness months, sports teams and staff campaigns. Fabric and Tyvek bands control access: they show who paid, who is VIP and who is staff, and they are designed to be hard to remove and pass on.
- Awareness or brand campaign: debossed or embossed silicone.
- Multi-day festival or event: fabric band with a one-way locking clasp.
- Single-day entry or guest list: printed Tyvek band, numbered if needed.
- Kids and families: soft silicone in bright colours.
Debossed, embossed or printed silicone
Debossed bands have the message pressed into the silicone, which is the most durable option because nothing can rub off; filling the recessed letters with a contrast colour makes them easy to read. Embossed bands have raised lettering for a bold, tactile look. Printed bands carry a full-colour logo on the surface and suit shorter runs where a mould is not justified.
Silicone bands can also be made in two-colour layers, swirled or segmented colours, or glow-in-the-dark for evening events.
Sizes and comfort
Silicone bands are usually supplied in an adult size, with smaller youth and child sizes available for schools and family events. Width affects how much text fits: a standard band suits a short message, a wider band suits a logo plus a line of text. Fabric bands are sized at the wrist by the event team and locked in place.
Planning event wristbands
For access control, colour-code each ticket type or day so security can check at a glance, and add sequential numbering if you need to reconcile counts. Order with a buffer of spare bands for late registrations and replacements. Fabric band artwork can be sublimated in full colour on polyester, which is the same process we use for printed lanyards.
