Compliance FAQ

Quick answers on certifications, audits, and documentation β for procurement teams and quality managers.
Can you supply REACH-compliant products for our EU rollout?
Yes. All EU-bound products meet REACH SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) limits. We supply REACH declarations on request β free for orders above 500 units, small handling fee below that.
Do you carry BSCI or SMETA-audited suppliers?
Yes β it's a requirement for our core supplier network. We can share the audit certificate (but not the full report, which is owned by the factory) before you order. See Social Compliance for details.
What test reports do you include with orders?
Standard materials-safety reports (REACH, phthalates, heavy metals, azo-dyes) are included free for orders above 500 units. For smaller orders there's a small handling fee to cover document retrieval. Batch-specific Certificates of Conformity are available on request for orders above 1,000 units.
Can you commission custom testing?
Yes. If you need tests against a specific standard not in our default package (e.g. Prop 65 for California, specific FDA food-contact protocols, custom migration tests), tell us at quote stage. We commission the test and pass through the lab cost transparently β no markup on third-party testing.
Are your children's products compliant with CPSIA?
Products that may reasonably be used by children under 12 and ship to the USA carry CPSIA compliance (lead in substrate, lead in paint, phthalate content). We provide a Children's Product Certificate (CPC) with each qualifying shipment.
Do your drinkware and lunchware products meet FDA / LFGB standards?
Yes. All food-contact products (mugs, bottles, tumblers, lunch boxes) are tested for overall migration, heavy-metal migration, and sensory neutrality per FDA 21 CFR (USA) and LFGB Β§ 30/31 (EU). Certificates available with any order.
What about conflict minerals in electronics?
For USB drives, power banks, and other electronics, we source only from suppliers who comply with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance on responsible mineral supply chains. We can provide a Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) for orders where this matters.
Can you provide FSC or recycled-content certification?
Yes β on request for notebooks, diaries, paper bags, gift boxes, and canvas tote bags from selected suppliers. FSC Chain of Custody certificates cover the source mill; the final product can carry the FSC logo if the entire supply chain is certified.
What documentation do I need for customs clearance?
Every shipment includes:
- Commercial invoice (ZATCA-compliant for Saudi Arabia, PINT AE for UAE, standard elsewhere)
- Packing list with HS codes
- Certificate of Origin (on request for preferential trade agreements)
- Any compliance documentation you requested at order stage
For regulated goods (electronics, food-contact, children's items), we include the applicable CE/FCC/CPSIA/LFGB certificates alongside the customs paperwork.
Can I see a sample of your test reports before I order?
Yes. Email compliance@giftsgulf.com with the product code(s) and target market, and we'll send anonymised sample reports within one business day. For specific orders we provide the actual reports.
What if an audit or compliance requirement changes during production?
We monitor regulatory changes across our key markets (EU, USA, GCC, India) and notify you if anything affects your order. If new testing is needed mid-production, we cover the testing cost if it falls under our scope of responsibility; otherwise we pass it through transparently with your approval.
How do I escalate a compliance concern?
Email ethics@giftsgulf.com or compliance@giftsgulf.comdepending on whether it's a social/labour or product-compliance matter. Both addresses are monitored by senior staff β we reply within one business day.
