Who buys this
Getting the spec right for food containers
- 1
Test lid fit before committing
A lid that pops in transit is the single most common delivery complaint. Insist on a physical sample and shake it.
- 2
Match lining to the food
Hot, oily or saucy food needs a proper PE or PLA lining. Uncoated board will go soft and leak.
- 3
Decide bowl vs box
Bowls suit wet, mixed items; rectangular boxes stack better in delivery bags and use less volume in shipping.
- 4
Check microwave and freezer needs
If customers will reheat in the container, that constrains the material — confirm it before spec, not after.
Custom Food Containers & Bowls: common questions
Which food containers are best for delivery?
For wet or saucy food, a PE- or PLA-lined kraft bowl with a tight-fitting lid. For dry or layered items, a rectangular box stacks better and travels more securely in a delivery bag. Leak resistance and lid fit matter far more than print quality on this product — an unbranded container that arrives intact beats a beautiful one that leaks.
Are bagasse (sugarcane) containers worth the extra cost?
They are compostable, sturdy and handle hot and oily food well, at a higher unit price than lined board. They are worth it if sustainability is genuinely part of your positioning and you will communicate it; if not, lined kraft performs comparably for less.
Can food containers be printed with our logo?
Yes, though print area is limited by shape and many operators get better value printing the lid or applying a branded sticker or sleeve to a plain container. That also lets you change branding without writing off remaining stock.
