How Promotional Products Are Produced
The real production methods behind promotional products we supply in Riffa — material fit, minimum order, and lead time for each.
Pad printing transfers ink from an etched plate onto a silicone pad, which then presses the image onto the product. Because the pad flexes, it is the standard method for branding curved and uneven items that a flat press cannot reach.
- Materials
- Plastics and ABS, Coated metal
- Minimum Order
- From 50 pieces per design
- Lead Time
- 5–10 working days after artwork approval
- 1. Plate etching — Your logo is etched into a steel or polymer cliché plate at final print size.
- 2. Ink pick-up — The etched recess is flooded with ink and the excess scraped away.
- 3. Transfer — A silicone pad lifts the ink from the plate and presses it onto the product, conforming to its shape.
- 4. Cure — Items are air- or heat-cured depending on the substrate and ink system.
Screen printing pushes ink through a fine mesh stencil onto the product, one screen per colour. It gives the most durable, most colour-accurate finish for flat surfaces and is the cheapest method per piece once you are past a few hundred units.
- Materials
- Cotton and poly-cotton apparel, Canvas and non-woven bags
- Minimum Order
- From 100 pieces per design
- Lead Time
- 7–12 working days after artwork approval
- 1. Artwork separation — Your logo is separated into one layer per spot colour and matched to Pantone references.
- 2. Screen preparation — A mesh screen is coated and exposed for each colour layer.
- 3. Print — Ink is pulled through each screen in sequence, with the product registered so colours line up.
- 4. Cure — Printed items pass through a dryer so the ink bonds permanently and survives washing.
